The Ms. Pat Show, BET+’s critically-acclaimed comedy series, has been renewed for Season 6 at its new home, Paramount+.

It’s the first BET-produced series to get a greenlight at Paramount+ since it was announced that Paramount Skydance would shutter BET+ and fold it into Paramount+, with all existing and upcoming BET series on BET+ being Paramount+ originals now. BET+ original content, as well as other BET content that streamed on BET+, will start streaming on Paramount+ this June.

The series stars the series lead, co-creator and executive producer, Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee. She co-created the show with showrunner Tony nominee Jordan E. Cooper. J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Vince Swann, Briayna Guadalupe and Theodore John Barnes also star in the series.

What inspired ‘The Ms. Pat Show’?

It is inspired by Williams-Lee’s life and her memoir, Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat, and follows “a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom. The series showcases the matriarch navigating life with her outspoken, multi-generational African American family,” while tackling “addiction, abortion, racism, sexual abuse, trans issues, immigration, generational trauma, non-binary pronouns, Black hair, school shootings and systemic inequities.”

The series is produced by Imagine Entertainment, Jordan E. Cooper’s Cookout Entertainment, and Lee Daniels Entertainment. Executive producers are Brian Grazer, Lee Daniels, Jon Radler, Deb Evans, Patrick Walsh and Rose Catherine Pinkney, alongside Williams-Lee and Cooper.

How many Emmy nominations has ‘The Ms. Pat Show’ received?
