The new teaser trailer for Spider-Noir features Lamorne Morris and Li Jun Li asking the important questions about Ben Reilly’s (Nicolas Cage) strange life.
The trailer stars Cage as Ben, who is described as “a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York.” As the logline states, Ben is “forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.”
If you remember correctly, the Into the Spider-Verse animated film series featured Spider-Noir (voiced by Cage) as one of the many Spider-people who interact with Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore). While it isn’t directly connected to those films, Spider-Noir keeps to the titular character’s gritty noir aesthetic by presenting its story in both “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color.”
Who else will star in the series?
The cast also includes Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson. Guest stars include Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster.
Harry Bradbeer serves as director and executive producer of the first two episodes, with Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the executive producers behind Into the Spider-Verse, also serve as executive producers via Lord Miller with Aditya Sood and Dan Shear. Amy Pascal executive produces via Pascal Pictures. Cage also executive produces alongside Pavlina Hatoupis. Sony Pictures Television produces exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video.
When does ‘Spider-Noir’ premiere?
Spider-Noir comes to Prime Video on May 27. Watch both the black & white and true-hue teaser trailers below:
